A Long, Long Week

Wow...it's been a very hectic week. Sorry I haven't blogged for so long. I think that's the longest I've went, huh?
Well that saturday that we went to Hilo, the race that was set up got canceled due to the very rainy weather. But Brandon and I had fun spending time alone together and we bbq'd with the TM Motorsports crew and had a blast talking with them. What awesome people! The race is going to be this Saturday now...June 30th. We won't be able to make it though...we really wanted to go again but can't afford it right now. But we will be praying for them and we hope everything goes smoothly!
Caleb has been doing really great! We have been doing a lot of therapy with him lately and he seems to be doing much better with it. My dad has been doing a lot of massaging on him during the day too. He loves it! We also take Caleb and Micaiah for a walk every evening. Lately it's been to the grocery store but it's great to take him out and about.
Yesterday I took Caleb to the Neurologist for the first time. It wasn't good. The doctor didn't lower his seizure med even though his EEG showed no signs of seizure activity and he's been doing so good. The doctor was very negative about other things that I had asked him about too and about everything in general. I was really disappointed and upset that Caleb heard all of his negativity. But I assured the doctor and Caleb that what he said isn't true. Anyhow...I'm definitely going to get him another neurologist! Today I went to see the school that Caleb could possibly go to starting the end of July. I'm still unsure and undecided about it right now but I was quite happy with my visit today. It seems he will be taken good care of and will be able to do many things there and make a lot of improvement. They have great therapy things for him and they will work with him very closely. If we do decide to send him to school we will start off very slowly with just an hour or two a day and I will be staying with him at first to see if he likes it and is happy being there. If not I will just discontinue sending him there. But if he does enjoy it, we will work our way up to him staying there four hours a day and maybe down the line for the whole day? We will see what happens with that and how he adjusts. I want Brandon to go visit the school first too so there's a second opinion and help in making the decision.
Brandon and I have been going through a very rough time these past two weeks. Please pray for the two of us...maybe so that we may learn through all of our troubles and become closer? And so that we may see the good in one another and that our hearts may be softened and change everyday for the better. My family has been going through a lot too. The devil THINKS he can tear everyone down...he THINKS he can win us. Well, that isn't going to happen! We will continue to study God's word and WALK WITH HIM every step of the way. Even through this very very trying time!
God Bless! And as always, thank you for your prayers! It's powerful and it's what we need!

My dear Kehau:
You ARE amazing - absolutely amazing, I must say! You inspire me (shouldn't it be the other way around?) and I know you inspire many others with you faith in the Lord. With everything you must endure, you always find your strength through Him.
It's definitely a trying time for all of us but the good news is that Kamakana (Caleb) keeps improving. Wow, he actually slept for 10 hours last night. That's a record! Must be from all that extra physical therapy we've been doing. I kept waking up to check on him and he looked so cute, sleeping peacefully (and longer) as he has been since Sunday night. That's great...just great! You can finally get more sleep and not have to wake up several times in the middle of the night. Hope and pray he continues to sleep well.
As for our smiley Micaiah, he makes me so happy & always uplifts me when I need it. Just like how Kamakana did for me last year when I was having stress at work - running to greet me when I got home, so happy to see me. You have such loving boys...and you're a great, loving mom.
Love you all sooooooo much,
Mom

Dear Kehau and Brandon
Stress could be a killer, but Jesus overcame stress and disappointment at the cross, so you could rest in HIM and share HIS victory.
We love you and keep on praying....and those who want to discourage you are doing it because they do not know God and HIS Power.
Much Love and Prayers
the Kitagawa's
...hope to see you next Saturday 7/7/07 (2-6 PM)for the Couple's picnic at the Blaisdell Park!

Aloha Kehau,

It was great meeting you in Hilo last week. You and Brandon are amazing with your strengh and love to make Caleb back to where he was before.
Please don't give up on each other as I observed how much love you have for one another and it CAN AND WILL endure anything. This is a big test for your family but as Brandon mentioned, he doesn't know why it happened but it did for a reason - maybe to test you and to make you stronger. I totally believe that as we are all put through tests in life. Please keep the faith in God and each other because even though you may think it's not worth it - you will appreciate each other even more when this is over and everything gets back to "normal" as it can be. Sometimes people run from their problems and frustrations but I know you and Brandon are strong and have stood up to the task. I hope that you spent some quality time together in Hilo as both of you deserved a break from the stress. We all enjoyed and were honored to meet you both - sorry the weather didn't cooperate with us! Hopefully this weekend we will accomplish our goal.

Take care, keep the faith and remember that you and Brandon have so much love for each other and your sons so NEVER give up! Give our love to Caleb and please know that we are always thinking of him.

Tammy
