Moving Along

Hey guys! I'm so sorry I didn't post a blog yesterday. I know you all are waiting to hear about Caleb's surgery. It went very well...he did very well and there were no complications. They put him on a rate on the ventilator again but today took him off and he was just on pressure support. So he's been breathing pretty much on his own. They are going to try and take him off the vent tomorrow and see how that goes. So please pray that he will do well and not need the ventilator at all.
It was so hard to see him go off to surgery. I mean you can never even think that your child will have to go into surgery...much less this surgery...or this whole ordeal! But I know it's gotta be really painful. They are still giving him morphine for the pain so he's pretty knocked out but gosh he's such a trooper! He's so strong and brave to have to go through all of this! We are all so proud of him. He does cry sometimes...you can see tears rolling down his cheeks and it just breaks my heart to see him cry.
It's so nice now to be able to see his handsome face. No more tubes in his mouth and nose and no more tape all over his face. Just handsome little him. Now he just needs to open those smiley eyes of his.
Yesterday another little boy came into the PICU. He's eight years old and also nearly drowned. Him and his family are from Japan...tourists who were here on vacation. We know what they are going through now but can't IMAGINE how hard it must be for them to go through this away from home in a foreign land..and on "vacation!" Our heart goes out to them! We wish we knew how to speak Japanese so we could talk to them. Please, please pray for that little boy and his family! We could not be so strong through all of this without all of the support from all of you!
We now have rubber bracelets for sale...it says "Pray for Caleb" and is blue. My wonderful friends, Snoop, Ti, Kristi, Daralyn, and Lauren all pitched in to get them. They are selling it for $2 each. (It's like the livestrong bracelet that everyone always wears) So if you would like some for yourself or would like to sell some to other people please let us know!
Mahalo! And thank you for all your prayers!

Hi Kehau,
It's great to read your messages and be privy to God's miracles at work through Kamakana! I continue to pray for all of you everyday. As for the bracelets, I would love to help out by selling them at Kawaiaha`o and the halau. Let Kala or Shanti know when they are available and I will make the time to pick them up.

Me ku`u aloha no,
Aunty Ardis
