This morning was quite eventful for all of us. At 2am I awoke to Caleb's alarm going off. When I went into his room my mom was already in there with him. I noticed his heart rate was very high and he was really hot. His oxygen levels started to decrease and went down to the lower 80s so I started to deep suction him but nothing was coming out. I quickly ran into our bedroom to wake up Brandon and asked him if he could come pray over Caleb as I gathered his oxygen tank and started to hook everything up. His oxygen levels hit 40 and then the high 30s and his lips turned blue. I had everything ready just then to hook him up to some oxygen and was calling 911 at the same time by that point. When he was on oxygen he was better...but still not doing so well. Brandon continued to pray over him while all this was going on and a second before the paramedics came into our house, Caleb coughed and a bunch of mucus came out and continued to come out thereafter...and we were praising the Lord! I guess he had some mucus stuck way down that I couldn't even get with the deep suction catheter. But right after he did that, his 02 went back to the 90s and his heart rate settled a little bit. Caleb also started to shake a bit but it didn't look like any seizure activity...it looked like he was shaking because he had the chills from his fever and from the look of his skin I would say he did have the chills. They took him into the ambulance and Brandon rode with him down to the ER continuing to talk to him and pray over him. (he even got to ride in the back with him) Apparently, I think the firefighters and paramedics know us by now.
In the ER he was fine but when they took his temperature (rectal) it was 103.8. I don't know why but everytime he gets a fever it just comes at once and it rises quickly. He was completely fine on Monday all day and in the evening too. They put an IV in and did a bunch of bloodwork which all came back fine...did a chest xray and that was fine too. After being poked around, Caleb was pretty tired so he just rested. The ER doctor said she felt fine to discharge him as long as we were okay with that. (which of course we were) So after getting some 24hour antibiotic through his IV we waited for a bit till his fever started coming down and headed for home. We were all very tired, including Patrick who came down to the ER when I called him to let him know what was going on. He stayed with us till 2pm. Caleb slept from 9am till 1pm and so did we. He hasn't had a fever since 8am and is back to his normal self...almost. His heart rate is normal when he is awake but is higher than usual when he's asleep. He had an afternoon of movies in mommy and daddy's bed and we were blessed by new things he started to do when he woke up. He started to smile...a half smile but you can definitely tell he's trying to give a smile. He looks at us in the eyes when we ask him to smile and he just goes for it. He's gotta be doing better for smiles! So our not so good morning turned out to be a great day after all.
His doctor decided to put him on some antibiotics to be safe. I think they found some bacteria growing in the culture they took but I guess it takes 24 hours to see what it is. I have no idea...he's fine, he's home...that's all that matters to me!
We were very blessed today and put to practice the things we have been learning about our faith. God was there as always and he answered as he always does. It may be a sleepless night for me tonight but I'm just thankful that we get to be home and that Caleb gets to sleep in his own bed gazing at his LED stars shining on the ceiling amongst the planets hanging down and remember who created it all (the real thing of course).
God healed Caleb almost instantly today...or in a very short time. I'm amazed at how well Caleb looks now from where he was this morning and all we can do is praise God! Please continue to pray that Caleb will be healed completely and be made whole and normal in Jesus' name!
You and your prayers is what keeps us afloat! Blessings...

Stay encouraged! Victory is near!
I'm glad you didn't look at the circumstances. God sees Caleb as whole and normal. Jesus paid the price.
