I apologize for not updating in so long as I hadn't even realized that it's been a month. We just returned from Maui on Monday afternoon. We loved traveling on the Superferry! It was so much easier. The only downfall was that Brandon and I got sick on our ride to Maui but thank God we had Patrick with us and he wasn't sick at all. So he watched the two boys while we were in misery. It was rocky and we hadn't slept much the night before. But our time in Maui was great! We went to the Aquarium as soon as we arrived and again on Sunday. Caleb absolutely loved it! He could easily see everything and he was so excited. Friday we spent the day just cruising in Lahaina and took the boys on the sugar cane train which was also pretty exciting for them. Micaiah loved the "choo-choo" the train made as we rode down the track. Saturday was our all beach day. Brandon's parents came for the weekend and hung out with the boys on the beach while Brandon and I got to go paddle boarding all day long with Patrick! It was so much fun! There were a lot more things we wanted to do but it would've been a long drive. So we are already talking about taking them back! Maybe in the spring or next summer...we'll see!
It's nice to be back home again though...Caleb got a nice vacation from doing so much work. But now back to a billion appointments a week!
News:
1. Caleb finally got approved for vital stim therapy and he already got in a few sessions. He's made improvements in just a few visits. Pleas pray that he will improve in each of his sessions and will be eating normally again in no time!
2. Today we had an appointment to review our new xrays from the chiropractor. We were pleased to see Caleb's improvement in the xrays but we could totally see it in him physically. His xray showed that his atlas (top bone of vertebrae) was no longer pressed right on the base of his skull. There is now a space between the top disc and his skull just like it should be. It probably makes him feel a lot better too. We think that he was suffering from bad headaches before getting treatment.
3. When we first started putting Caleb in his walker he would move his feet a little when we asked him too. Now he is able to lift his foot and take a step on his own. (in the walker) And he can hold his own head up while doing so too.
4. At Caleb's physical therapy one time he was in a prone postition and he crawled to me army man style! And another time they had him in the walker but in a crawling stance and he held himself up...his head too! He worked so hard and did more than we thought he would.
Caleb's EEG is finally scheduled for August 21st. Please pray that all goes well as he will be sedated for it and also that the results will be positive and show that he does not have seizures.
We are so blessed to see all of Caleb's progress but I haven't really been paying much attention to everything. I don't know if it's just been so hectic or maybe I've been just focusing on the fact that we have him in our lives. I think I've been getting used to everything as if it were normal. But then I have these moments where I just thank God for healing him as my mind starts to replay the Caleb before the accident. God is so great in the midst of it all even when I'm not paying attention. I love not dwelling on seeing Caleb's progress and the fact that it all just comes!
I will post pictures from our trip when I get them...and I promise I will update sooner. There's been so much happening that I probably forgot to mention some things and maybe I even reported something for the second time. Either way...all is well with Caleb and our family...thanks to all your prayers and God's mighty hand in everything!

Caleb is looking great! What a blessing to hear that he is doing so well. I will be praying that his EEG will go fine and that it won't find any seizure activity. His knee's look great, you are blessed my friend to have them bend so well.

I'm so glad to hear that you were able to get away as a family for some fun time, it's so important to have those fun times.

You stuck it out and could go on a family vacation including Caleb. PTL
We keep on praying.....picture and reminders "Pray for Caleb" are still up at the most frequent used places in the house: Bathroom mirroir and ...of course on the fridge door!:)

We love you all ...and belated Happy 1st anniversary Kehau and Brandon.

Praise God for all of this great news! Caleb is looking wonderful and the pictures of him and Micaiah together are so cute. Hope your last week of summer classes goes well, Kehau, and hope to see Micaiah in the Children's Ark again next week!
