Hey everyone! I'm so sorry that I haven't blogged in three days. It's been hectic trying to manage my time to get to a computer. So now I've got so much news! (It's great!)
On monday we noticed that Caleb's right eye was twitching and was very slightly opened. We were beyond excited. Then on Tuesday we noticed it was a lot more opened and the left eye open slightly. PRAISE GOD! It will probably take him awhile to open it up completely but we can be patient. It's so funny too because we put his favorite movie Cars on for him and he kept that little eye open the whole time to watch it! He has also been making some facial expressions...mostly when he gets irritated or mad though. But still it's a good sign.
Brandon and I have been learning a lot from the nurses too. In fact, they don't even work anymore. Nah, they do...but they have been teaching us a lot since we will need to be experts before we go home.
Today he will most likely be moving out of the ICU down to the second floor as long as there is a room available for him. PRAISE GOD! Yesterday we had a little meeting with the doctor and social worker just to update us on everything and prepare us for what's to come. (Although only God knows that) The doctor said that Caleb has come a long way in such a short time and that he has overcome a lot that they thought he wouldn't. (We were thinking, that's right!, by the power of God.) So he will be able to come home very soon! We are just waiting on the paperwork to all go through. We can't wait! It will be a challenge but we have so many loving and helpful hands and God in our lives so we know that all will be fine.
Remember the Japanese boy that drowned that I wrote about and I'm sure you've probably read it in the paper too...He passed on Monday night. Please, please pray for that little boy "Taku," his mom and dad, family back home, and all those lives he touched. Also, we have another prayer request: see philngeri.blogspot.com
The power of all your prayers and the grace of God is surely healing Caleb. Please pray for these others and believe that they too will be healed and blessed by our Lord! Thank you everyone!
I also ordered more prayforcaleb bands and will let you know when we get it in. Thank you to all of you who bought some already and who have taken some to sell! We appreciate you! We are also going to start planning a fundraising event so if anyone is interested in helping or have connections to things that we may need please email me at kehauengle@yahoo.com and I will pass on your information to my sister who is trying to get the ball rolling.
Again, I am so sorry about not blogging for awhile. I know that all of you constantly check the site for updates...so sorry! I'll try harder to be more on it! Check back again tomorrow! :)
Praise God, Praise God! HE is MIRACULOUS!
Well, I think that was all the news I had. There's been so much going on in the past few days and there will be a lot more to come! So keep checking! I promise I will update it more often! Hopefully everyday...that's my goal.
God Bless you and have a wonderful day!
