Happy 4th Birthday Caleb!!!

...and a happy birthday it was! The morning started off with praises for our mighty God! I prayed and prayed and thanked God for that day. How blessed are we to have the chance to celebrate Caleb's fourth birthday! Thank you Lord! Then there were many birthday wishes and kisses. Patrick (one of our great nurses) came in to help us celebrate the day. First stop...Kaimuki Christian! (Caleb's school) As soon as we arrived you could see his excitement as we brought him out. All his old friends from last year who are now separated into two classes gathered in his old classroom, along with the principal and his old teachers. They all were excited to see him as well. They sang happy birthday to him, had some cake, gave him some gifts and cards and took pictures with him. What a great way to start off the day!....for all of us! We had such a wonderful time seeing our KCS ohana and all of Caleb's little friends.
After we went to the zoo. Nothing really special but that was the first time we took him there since his accident. We didn't have anything planned for the day after the visit at KCS, we just kinda went with the flow. I was trying so hard to plan something that would be great for him but was stressing out about what exactly to do so I decided not to plan. Caleb was probably just happy to spend the day together somewhere else other than the hospital and home. It was nice.
Then last night some family and friends came over to help us celebrate Caleb's birthday and sing to him. We were trying so hard to keep him up before everyone came so we could all sing happy birthday but he was so tired and fell asleep just before the last guests arrived. But that was alright because we sang happy birthday to him many times as he tried to fall asleep and his cousins helped him open all his presents.
I contained myself the entire time! No crying...woohoo! If I cried it would have hopefully been tears of joy. However, when we were at the zoo, images continued to flash through my head of times I spent there with Caleb. I remember the last time I took him there when I was pregnant with Micaiah. We got to spend time alone together and had a nice little picnic on the grass. I remember his rascalness and his non stop talking...oh, i miss that little portagee mouth! But still no tears! I just prayed and prayed and continued to praise God for that day! I'm gonna get many more memories to make with him...Wait, I AM making memories with him! :) Praise God!
Thank you to all of you who helped make Caleb's day special... We love you all so very much! It was another glimpse for us to see how blessed we are through it all! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We couldn't have asked for a better day!
And to top off Caleb's wonderful birthday...as I came online to do this blog, New Hope's website came up as always but at the top there was our picture and with the caption it said Happy 4th Birthday Caleb! (Then there's the whole story when you click on it) How sweet! Thank you New Hope...we love you! So that put the icing on Caleb's cake! (and mines too)
Saturday is Caleb's party...everyone is invited to help us celebrate! I know it's kinda late but it will be from 11am-4pm. For more information contact any family member you know or email me at prayforcaleb@yahoo.com and I will email you the information tonight. God Bless you and thank you so much for your prayers!
