It's not so bad...

I think Caleb might be coming down with a cold. On Saturday night he had a fever and we were up with him till 3am Sunday morning. It went away quickly and came back Sunday night again...and then today. He's been needing more suctioning too. But he seems to be doing okay. It's not bad. And I don't know how he got it since no one is sick at home.
This morning before Brandon went to work he moved Caleb over on his bed and adjusted his machines so that I could lay down with Caleb. Caleb was making so many sounds all morning. I think I've mentioned that before but this was more than ever...and different tones too! I was so excited! Very tired and excited! I was waiting for him to start having a conversation with me. But it didn't happen. I wasn't so sad though because his constant sounds made me excited enough for the time being.
Things have been going pretty smoothly so far with Brandon back to work. Brandon of course is frustrated and would so much love to be at home instead. I'm adjusting to the no sleep. Coffee and energy drinks keep me alive. :) Actually, Caleb has been sleeping pretty well, minus a few nights. But all in all, I'd have to say it's been good. Micaiah is a handful...totally different than how Caleb was but he brightens up our everyday.
Good News! Caleb will finally be starting speech therapy next week! (It's about time) And his wheel chair should be coming in soon! He also got authorized to go to therapy twice a week!
Ooh, and Brandon and I got to go on a date tonight! (Much needed) We had a nurse tonight and I was able to convince my brother to watch Micaiah. (Don't think he's gonna wanna do that again for awhile)
I do have a prayer request...Caleb's ribs are starting to "pop out" a little and there's a bone that sticks out a bit. His therapists are working with it but I think prayer is what he really needs. I don't want that to become a big problem for him. So please pray that it will be normalized and not get really bad.
Tomorrow we are going to go talk with another doctor. I think he's kind of like a chiropractor...I don't know much about him or what he does. Brandon knows...someone he works with talked to him about this doctor and set up an appointment for us to meet him. So we are going to go meet with him and talk to him about Caleb. (It's not for Caleb to go just yet) But I'm interested to find out what his mission is.
Brandon and I are going to be going to visit kids at Kapiolani Hospital with our church in a couple weeks. We're excited to go there and be on the other end... to give to kids and their families love that Caleb and us received by many during his stay there.
Please do pray for us this Christmas season. We are excited for the things that are happening with Caleb and are sure that something big is coming. And we are even more excited for the new year that is soon to come and all of God's blessings that we will be seeing. Please pray for all that Caleb is yet to overcome and for the miracles that God is going to show in Caleb.
This Sunday we'll be going to a church in Kapolei. We went to this church once before and found out that they are going to be having a guest speaker this weekend: Norvel Hayes. When Caleb was in the hospital someone came to visit that we had never met. (This was within the first week of Caleb's drowning) She brought us a book titled "How to Live and Not Die" by Norvel Hayes. Brandon read the entire book quickly and was impacted by it. (For Brandon to read an entire book is amazing, since he really doesn't like to read) I read bits of it but never read the whole thing. Now I am reading it and plan to finish it before we meet him. Anyways, Brandon really wanted to write to him about Caleb and eventually wanted to meet him. So we were very excited when we heard he was coming to Hawai'i and can't wait to introduce him to Caleb!
Thank you for continuing to keep up with Caleb and his progress and of course for always keeping him and our family in your prayers! God Bless you all!

Kaneala, Kehau,

When we got the news about Caleb from your Dad, we were shocked and in disbelief. The news about Caleb immediately went out to our prayer warriors at Calvary Baptist as well as family and friends throughout the country. We have no way of understanding what you and your family went through and are going through but can trust in a mighty and sovereign God that nothing passes into this world that does not come through our Fathers hands. We are excited beyond words to hear of Caleb’s progress. We will continue to lift up Caleb to our Great Physician and also for you two and your family. We are reminded that Gods Word proclaims that, for those who hope in our Lord will renew their strength. They soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Pray on!

Living by Gods grace,

Uncle Donnie and Aunty Marion and the Savella Boyz
