Brandon and I spent this past weekend on a retreat with Pursuit (Young Adults Ministry @ New Hope) and had a great time! It was so awesome to get away from the world and focus completely on God! What an awesome feeling and time we got to share with HIM who has blessed us so much! I missed the boys so much though...and we were only gone for 48 hours. Caleb looked great when we came back home! I don't know if he looked better or if it was just so refreshing for me to see his face again. But I was delighted to spend some time with him. We took him to his friends birthday party and he got to see all his buddies from school! How fun!
Last Friday @ therapy, Caleb got to go on the swing. He played with the ball...kicking it and then hitting it with his hand. He had lots of fun. Anyways, the biggest news was that he was kicking!!! Small kicks, yes but he was purposely trying to kick the ball! His therapists said that it was voluntary movement and not tone! You could really tell anyways. We were all very excited! Praise God...
I was feeling a little like I was neglecting Caleb lately. Not spending quality time with him. So last thursday I took him for a walk...just the two of us. We went to the park (like how we used to) and just hung out. I took him out of the stroller and put him on my lap and we just spent some time with one another for about an hour. It felt so good to just have him in my arms and for us to be alone at a place where I loved to take him to play. I had a few tears in the beginning but all in all I had a wonderful time spent with him. So I'm going to make it a priority to do something like that regularly. It's hard to spend time with him and feel like I've spent our time well...connecting...feeling that connection. I'm so glad I found that on thursday. We had a nurse over @ that time too. But I just took him and our nurse watched Micaiah instead. :)
Blessings are rolling in one after another and it keeps me excited for more to come! ALL praise to our Lord for ALL that Caleb has overcome...for ALL his improvements! Please continue to keep us in prayer that we may continue to see HIS blessings pouring out daily! We'd love for Caleb to start walking, talking, and eating normally again VERY SOON! It's gonna happen, yes, in the very near future! Thank you for standing in faith with us for all that is to come!
