We Got Our Van!

Yeah! We got our van on Friday. It's so good...we can't stop playing with it :) Tomorrow we will be taking Caleb for a ride in it for the first time. We have to go back to the ER early in the morning...yes, AGAIN! I know its crazy.

Today my mom went to go pick up Caleb's medications at the pharmacy at Kapiolani MC. I didn't tell her what the meds were that she had to pick up because I didn't think to. I figured they would give her what the doctor prescribed. But no that did not happen. They only gave her one...and that wasn't one we needed urgently. So when she came home I discovered this but couldn't do much since the pharmacy was already closed. So I called our pediatrician and told him what was going on. And to make a long story shorter he couldn't really do anything. See because the medicine he needed is considered a narcotic...it's not but that's the category it falls into. It would take me long to explain that whole thing. So we discovered that we had refills for it. Our nurse came in tonight from 6pm to 10pm and wanted us to go out on a date. So we headed down for a movie but stopped at Longs first. It turned out they couldn't fill it. So I had to call the doctor back and explain why they couldn't fill it. Then when he called me he told me to go to the ER and one of the doctors there would give me a subscription and then I could take it to Longs to get if filled. Meanwhile we were already in our movie. I was in and out of theater...talking on the phone. It was horrible. I just wanted to go home already. But gosh, I didn't want to waste our 9 bucks (x2)! So my mom came down to the theater to get the medical card from me and went down to the ER to pick up the subscription and then went to longs...only to discover that we still couldn't get it because they didn't have any! Then the doctor called around to see if any other place had it....no luck. But when we talked to longs earlier they could have told us they didn't have it so we didn't have to do all that work. My goodness. Our date was very stressful...we were supposed to be able to relax. Well Brandon watched the movie...but I was stressed out the whole time. So our nurse said she's gonna schedule another night that she can come in June so we can try it again. That would be great because then Brandon can take me out to dinner for my birthday! :) haha!

So the only way we can get his meds is if we take him to the ER tomorrow morning. He has to be an inpatient that's why. So we will be up very early! We are gonna go there in the morning and hope its quick so that we can make it to church afterward.

Caleb has been doing so good though! He moves a lot more now and he did awesome at his PT on Friday. He's also getting his days and nights back into a normal routine. He's been sleeping during the night which is so good for us because we can sleep now since he doesn't need suctioning while he sleeps. Then he wakes up at around 6am. Brandon's parents stayed over last night too and stayed in his room with him. So Brandon and I got to sleep in OUR room...both of us...at the same time. And we got lovely rest. My mom got Micaiah when he woke up and took care of him so we slept till about noon! How nice it was to SLEEP! Thank you for praying...see, we got sleep!

Tomorrow we don't have a nurse....again. So we will be on our own at church.

KGMB 9 news is coming to our home this week to do a story on Caleb. I'm not sure when they are going to air it but I will let you all know. Jim Mendoza who is a Christian will be sharing Caleb's miracle with all of Hawai'i!

We are going to take Caleb and Micaiah out this week sometime too...probably to the aquarium. Caleb loves fish...always did. He's not so much of an animal person...fish is his thing. That will be fun to take him there. He'll love it.

Sorry but I meant to blog earlier but the internet wasn't working. I'm gonna get that fixed so I don't have that problem again.

Okay well you all have a wonderful Sunday! Praise God! I've got to get to sleep since we have to wake up in a few hours! God Bless! and "PRAY FOR CALEB!" Love you all!

One more thing...please pray for my Aunty Eiko. She is in the hospital and has cancer. The doctors aren't giving her much time left so please pray for her and her family and all our relatives. THANK YOU!

Aloha all,

This is Merit, Ashley's ohana in Oregon. We have been following your miracle everyday. We are so thankful for all of the progress being made and that you guys got your Van. I am so sorry we wont be able to view the special. Maybe they can send us a taping of it. We would be more than happy to pay the costs of the video and shipping. Prayers are always being said for your wonderful family. What a strong little superman you have. You are a miraculous family and we pray for continued miracles.
