Hello Family! We are finally home and all settled in. Sorry but I thought I would be blogging more since we got home but it's been hectic trying to settle in. NOW we are all settled in and his room is organized and set up the way we like it. Everything is in order now. But still we are soooo tired. Caleb is a night owl...hasn't changed. He always was. Just like mommy and daddy. But we stay up all night suctioning him. Caleb seems a lot happier at home and its so nice to just be at home where everything is available. The only downfall is that we dont have a nurse 24hours just in case. But I think I'm a qualified nurse now. And Brandon is a physical therapist. I think we should open up our own practice. haha. It's been really tough on Brandon and I too. But we are and will work through it.
Caleb is much more relaxed at home. You can really see it. We know that it's just gonna get so much better from here on out. Everyday he looks better and better. We constantly have to be with him to stimulate him. I read to him a lot. (Something we always did before and he always loved) My new favorite store is Borders. I go crazy in there buying books for Caleb and Brandon has to pry me away from the shelves. We play him music and his favorite movies and do a lot of physical therapy with him. We take him for walks outside on his wheelchair too. He loves it. I love it because there's so much more we can do with him now. It's like we got our son back now because he is completely in our hands now.
Our home care nurses have been great! We love them and they have all been so good to Caleb. It's also great to have Micaiah and Caleb together again. It's still tough but much easier than living at the hospital. Today we didn't get a homecare nurse though. It's hard to get weekend nurses. So we taught Brandon's dad and my mom how to do everything so they could watch him while we left to go look at a car with Brandon's mom. We are going to get a rampvan! We just finished looking at it and we decided to buy it. So hopefully by the middle of this week we will have it in our possession. It will make our lives so much easier in transporting Caleb. Plus we can have Micaiah in the car at the same time too. So we are excited about that. Thank you Jesus for the van. It's a demo car but it's still in good condition. And hey, we won't need it for that long anyways. Caleb will be walking in no time!
Thank you for your prayers. We are so blessed to have so many people praying for Caleb. Thank you and please continue to pray for him daily...every chance you get please pray.
We have a request for you all too. We just heard that Brandon's, cousins, son has been sick. His name is Ha'aheo and he's been having a lot of migraines everyday so he is going to be getting tests done and a cat scan on Monday I believe. So please, please pray for Ha'aheo that everything will be okay and that they are able to relieve his headache pains. But pray that all the outcomes from his tests are good. I will let you know what time his cat scan is if I can find that out so that we can all pray for him during that time.
Please pray for Maren (Brandon's high school friend) who is also recovering from a brain injury due to a car accident she was in about eight months ago. Also for Phil Yasuhara who is undergoing chemo. See philandgeri.blogspot.com
Tomorrow we will be taking Caleb to church with us! The nurse for tomorrow will be coming with us so that she can watch him at church. See..there will be many more people turning to God because we will be dragging them with us to church! Praise God!
Thank you everyone! I will be blogging more as things start to arise. And now that we are settled in I will be able to catch some time to blog. God Bless you all and GIVE ALL GLORY TO GOD! Pray pray pray!
